What does Ofsted think about Skills Bootcamps? FE Soundbite edition 670

Welcome to FE Soundbite edition 670. This is the weekly e-newsletter and e-journal brought to you be FE News ISSN 2732-4095. We know life is busy, so here is a snapshot of the latest announcements and cool thought leadership articles from influencers and cool thinkers across FE and Skills this week on FE News.

What does Ofsted think about Skills Bootcamps?

I think Skills Bootcamps have a bright future... along with Micro-credentials! They are incredibly helpful in giving short and to the point training and skills injections... but they still have a way to go to be the totally finished product... but hey, isn't innovation about experimenting and improving things?

...but what does Ofsted think?

Ofsted: Skills Bootcamps will help plug skills gaps, but improvements are needed.

Lifelong Learning Week and More from the Global Lifelong Learning Summit

Stephen Evans wrote a cool article: We need to level up lifelong learning

I thought this video interview from Pedro from ILO on the future of Micro-Credentials in lifelong learning was really interesting. We had a whole bunch of cool videos and content from the Global Lifelong Learning Summit... this was in Singapore last week, if you missed it (as I was on a different time zone)... here is a link to all of the content.

I also wanted to highlight Glenda from OECD's video interview on Careers advice and guidance

Robert Halfon was finally Confirmed as Minister for Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education.. and he has a portfolio and a half!

Jane Hickie wrote a cool roundup: What we learnt from AELP Autumn Conference 2022

I hope you enjoy FE Soundbite this week!
