UKCES’ Simon Perryman discusses Green Skills and his organisation’s research into what employers within the Low Carbon sector are looking for. 

Simon provides a great insight into the needs of employers, ranging from strong transferable STEM skills to Leadership and Management. He also highlights the issue of raising the aspirations and attractiveness of the Green and Low Carbon sector, with UKCES research showing  it is more lucrative for a Mathematician to work in finance than to work for an engineering firm developing green technologies.
