Vocational education and training (VET) plays a crucial role in preparing individuals for specific careers and industries. It focuses on practical skills and knowledge relevant to a particular job or trade. VET is often delivered through further education colleges and apprenticeship programs.
Apprenticeships, a key component of vocational training, provide individuals with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while earning a qualification. Employers actively participate in shaping the training to ensure that it aligns with industry needs.
Vocational qualifications, such as BTECs (Business and Technology Education Council) and NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications), are widely recognised and are often pursued as alternatives to traditional academic routes.
