The Turing Scheme is the UK government’s programme to provide funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world.
It supports Global Britain by providing an opportunity for UK organisations from the higher education, further education, vocational education and training and schools sectors to offer their students, learners and pupils life-changing experiences to study or work abroad.
This scheme funds global education and training opportunities. It helps UK organisations provide experiences for their students worldwide, aligning with Global Britain goals.
Erasmus+ allowed staff from further education on placements, but Turing is exclusive to UK students. Unlike Erasmus, Turing doesn’t support international students with funding or visa changes.
Schools, colleges, and higher education providers apply for funding on behalf of pupils and students. Full-time or part-time, you may be eligible if associated with these organisations.
It honours Alan Turing, a renowned British mathematician and computer scientist, aligning with his pioneering contributions to science.
