What is a Local Skills Improvement Plan?
Following on from the skills for jobs paper, the Department for Education introduced local skills improvement plans (LSIPs).
The purpose of an LSIP is to bring together key stakeholders, including employers, educational institutions, training providers, and local authorities, to develop a strategic plan for enhancing skills and employability in the area.
Why is a Local Skills Improvement Plan important?
LSIPs will provide an agreed set of actionable priorities that employers, providers and stakeholders in a local area can get behind to drive change.
They will: place employers at the heart of local skills systems. facilitate direct and dynamic working arrangements between employers and providers.
