Housing Hand and Kexgill announce partnership to make renting easier for students

• Housing Hand service will enable overseas students to pay rent monthly, rather than in advance
• Service will be available across all of Kexgill’s 3,000 UK homes

UK rental guarantor service Housing Hand has announced a new partnership with student accommodation provider Kexgill, which is set to challenge the way that students are able to access private sector accommodation.

The new partnership will see Kexgill use Housing Hand as its preferred guarantor service provider. Any student who wishes to live in one of Kexgill’s properties will be eligible to use Housing Hand as their guarantor. This means that overseas students will be able to move into a Kexgill home and pay rent monthly, instead of upfront. The Housing Hand guarantee means that renting a student property has never been so easy or stress-free.

Kexgill operates 3,000 beds in the UK, through a mix of halls of residence, apartments and houses in multiple occupation (HMOs), with homes spread across the North of England, including in Liverpool, Hull, Preston, Middlesborough, Salford, Stockton, Nottingham and Bradford.

Housing Hand has worked closely with Kexgill to identify the pain points in the rental process for students. This process has led to the rollout of the Housing Hand guarantee for all those who want to live in one of Kexgill’s homes.

The Housing Hand service is a guarantee, rather than an insurance. It covers all rent liabilities under the tenancy agreement, with no complicated additional terms or independent adjudication fees for those using the scheme.
