Williaam Cox and South Eastern Regional College conclude a successful “FUSION” Project
South Eastern Regional College (SERC) has delivered a successful FUSION project with Williaam Cox, a market leader in daylight, fire safety and natural ventilation and plastics distribution.
FUSION is an InterTrade Ireland Programme which enables manufacturing / tradable services companies to grow, by helping fund a high calibre science, engineering or technology graduate and partnering them with a third level institution with specific industry expertise.
This project set out to improve production processes, by using LEAN methodologies to streamline the process between design and production. As a direct result of this project, the company has better, faster methodologies in place across all areas of the business; this will ensure faster production times, greater production capacity, and less bottlenecks throughout the design and production process.
Alan Shanley, Business Development Manager with SERC said, “We are delighted with the successful conclusion of this Fusion project. More than anything, it demonstrates the importance of colleges and businesses working together, as partners, to deliver exciting, innovative business transformations.
“Following the programme, Williaam Cox now has a state-of the-art product design department, which not only allows the company to take full advantage of 3D modelling, rendering, and standardisation at product design stage, it also ensures faster, better, more streamlined outputs at production stage.”
SERC has also been granted the opportunity to work on a number of other FUSION projects with a number of other eligible companies in Cork, Dublin, and Tipperary.
