Vet recruitment specialists give York vet students £750 towards studies
Specialist vet recruitment agency @VetFinders are going above and beyond to help support the industry, having donated funds to two nursing students and launching a new scheme to support the Blue Cross charity.
The recruiters who focus on candidate placement for vet practices, animal hospitals and charities throughout the UK have played a huge role in supporting two final year students to complete their studies by donating £750 to each of the Foundation Degree Veterinary Nursing students.
Jessica Graham and Larissa Lawlor are both students at the Askham Bryan University Centre in York.
Jessica stated that the money will help her buy the required books for her studies as she strives towards her goal of working in a mixed practice, while Larissa explained her money will be used towards taking time off from her part-time job to focus on placement work, as well as saving towards a new stethoscope.
Giving back to the community is at the heart of VetFinders and everything they do. Chris Worthington, managing director of VetFinders states, “As a leading supplier of permanent and locum candidates throughout the UK, we are a mission-driven business set up with two clear goals: one, to place people in their dream roles, and the other, to give back to the industry we love.”
The student sponsorship is just one of the charitable efforts currently being undertaken by VetFinders. The specialist recruiters based in York are launching a new charitable initiative with Blue Cross where the agency will pay for a Blue Cross nurse for the day every time they successfully place a candidate.
Billed as ‘A dream job for you; a Blue Cross nurse paid for too’, the initiative means that every time VetFinders successfully places a candidate, they will donate a portion of the commission to the Blue Cross animal charity to cover the cost of one day of a vet nurse’s wages.
The new initiative is the perfect embodiment of VetFinder’s ambition to place skilled people in the dream jobs, and to support the industry and the important work it provides.
VetFinders already have a close relationship with Blue Cross having worked with them on charitable efforts previously.
Natalie Paweleck, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Blue Cross, says, “We want to thank Vet Finders for their generous support.
“As a charity Blue Cross receives no government funding and relies entirely on its generous supporters to continue helping hundreds of sick, injured and abandoned animals at its hospitals and rehoming centres across the country.”
VetFinders offer a wide array of permanent and locum roles across all levels in the veterinary industry.
