Barking & Dagenham College’s Learner Involvement Coordinator takes part in ‘Big Drop’ for charity
Barking & Dagenham College’s Learner Involvement Coordinator did a 12,000 feet skydive for one of the charities that the College supports.
Karen Boxhall raised £459 for the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF) on Sunday 30th June.
She decided to take the plunge after reading a fundraising pack sent to the College by the Foundation, which had a list of suggested fundraising activities.
During the Big Drop 2019 other brave CLDF supporters attended airfields around the country and took to the skies for the Big Drop, free-falling at over 120mph in a sponsored tandem skydive.
Karen said: “When I saw it in the charity information pack I thought that’s a great idea; as I was looking out of the plane however, it didn’t seem such a good idea! However, I’m delighted that I did it and managed to raise vital funds to help in the fight against childhood liver disease.”
