Tresham Apprenticeship Scheme Wins ‘Winning With Weetabix’ Award
Just in time for National Apprenticeship Week (6th – 10th March 2017) Tresham College of Further and Higher Education, based in Northamptonshire, has won a prestigious award from Weetabix in recognition of the excellent service and performance of their apprenticeship and training service provision.
Employees at Weetabix nominate suppliers for the ‘Winning with Weetabix’ award when they feel they have ‘gone the extra mile’ to support the company’s business goals. Tresham was selected as the winner of the award over 23 other nominations for the training partnership that was re-established in April 2016 to shape their apprenticeship requirements in support of the business.
Julie Hoult, Head of Business Development at Tresham said:
“I was absolutely delighted when Neil Clarke, Business Unit Operations Manager at Weetabix told me that he had nominated us for the ‘Winning with Weetabix’ award and to win the award is fantastic!”.
This award is a testament to everyone at Tresham who has worked alongside the Weetabix team to re-ignite and build their Apprentice programme. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such a motivated group of individuals from both businesses and fantastic to see the first cohort of talented young apprentices starting what I’m sure will be long and successful careers with Weetabix. This is the perfect springboard to build on our already solid partnership and I very much look forward to many more opportunities to come.”
Giles Turrell (Weetabix CEO) said:
“People are our business’ best asset and this is a shared value between Weetabix and Tresham College. They have worked really hard to make our apprenticeship scheme a success. They are proactive and have quickly become trusted partners to us. Their expertise has helped Weetabix deliver this initiative.
In addition to the formal Apprenticeship model, Weetabix provide work experience to Tresham students, open their doors to students to give insight to working at Weetabix and utilise the college conference facilities for training and team meetings. The use of these facilities has the added benefit that Tresham’s catering and hospitality students get real life experience giving them confidence to replicate this with other clients/employers.
Weetabix also supports Tresham by sponsoring the annual awards, offering advice at careers events and branding throughout Tresham campuses.
