Training provider partners with industry heavy-weight to coach recruitment managers of the future

Ian Knowlson, recruitment industry expert and thought-leader

A national training provider has this week launched a new, higher-level management qualification for the recruitment sector. Industry insider, Ian Knowlson will be leading many of the workshops which will be run in Manchester and in London. Uniquely, businesses will be able to access funding to pay for all or part of the training.

Ian Knowlson is well known in the recruitment industry as an expert and thought-leader in the field. He is a regular speaker at recruitment industry conferences who is often booked as the keynote speaker or conference host.

Solvo Vir is an established training provider based in the North West. The business has a successful track record of delivering employee training programmes within organisations, upskilling their new and existing staff.

Management Training for Recruiters

As well as delivering in REC-accredited qualifications for in-house and agency recruitment staff, Solvo Vir also offers management training accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). Until now, this has been for managers from any type of organisation or industry. However, the new ILM-accredited management training will be looking at management theory, skills and processes through the lens of a manager in the recruitment industry. Workshops will discuss industry-relevant examples, tasks and scenarios.

Solvo Vir’s Managing Director, Carl Smith says:

“We are delighted to be working with Ian to deliver management training that is specifically tailored to those in the recruitment industry. Whilst a good management trainer will have deep understanding of management theories and can bring to bear examples from their own management experience, few would understand, for example, the complexities of corporate resourcing and constructing a high return client.

Working closely with our other management trainers and assessors, Ian will bring real life examples of management in the recruitment industry into the training sessions. This is a fantastic opportunity for those aspiring to senior positions to benefit from Ian’s vast experience, as he brings the qualifications to life.”

 Ian Knowlson to lead workshops

Ian has over 25 years’ experience in sales, recruitment and training. He worked as Sales Director for Hays Specialist Recruitment for eleven years and now works as a recruitment business growth coach and trainer. He is a qualified NLP Master Practitioner and was recently named by Sage PLC as a Top 100 Global Business Influencer. All of this experience means Ian has much to draw from as he leads the management workshops.

Ian says:

“I am passionate about helping individuals and businesses achieve their true potential. It will be a privilege to work with talented individuals from within this industry, helping them take their careers to the next level.”

Government funding available

The management training course for recruiters is classified as apprenticeship training, effectively integrating study with ‘on the job’ learning. The government approved funding for recruitment industry qualifications in December 2017. This now means that organisations which are now subject to the Apprenticeship Levy can use those funds to pay for the training. Smaller businesses can access substantial government funding to cover the majority of the cost.
