Three new appointments to Board of Governors at Fife College
Fife College (@fifecollege) has announced the appointment of three new members to their Board of Governors.
After interviewing a number of well qualified candidates over recent weeks, Samantha Mowbray, Garry Dickson, and Pamela Forbes were selected to join the Board and have subsequently received the required approval from Scottish Ministers.
Samantha Mowbray is the Lead IT Vendor Manager at Aegon and has experience in a number of areas including IT, law and commercial and financial services. As a lifelong learner herself, and a working mum, Samantha is well placed to promote the need for a flexible approach to learning.
Garry Dickson is the HR Transformation Lead at the NatWest Group and has over 30 years’ experience in HR across both the private and public sector. He is a chartered member of the CIPD and is a former student of the college, having successfully completed qualifications in accounting, computing and his full CIPD qualification here.
Pamela Forbes is the Medical Admissions Officer at St Andrews University and was previously a Senior Policy Analyst at the Scottish Funding Council, meaning she brings a wealth of experience in the education sector. Pamela completed an MA (Hons) Classical Studies and an MSc (Res) Psychology, with her thesis for the latter examining the attainment gap.
The Board of Governors at the College comprises of 18 members, including the Principal, two student members, two staff members and 13 external members, bringing a wide range of skills, knowledge and expertise.
Each member helps the Board carry out its main duties in setting the strategic direction of Fife College, and monitoring the College’s performance against strategic objectives.

“Samantha, Garry and Pamela will bring their own unique experience to the role, all of which will be invaluable as we set out our strategic direction for the coming years.
“Each of them appreciates the vital role colleges have to play in Scotland’s economy over the coming years as we exit the pandemic.
“They share our determination and drive to ensure that we are doing all we can to help provide the skills needed to help individuals develop and the economy in Fife grow.”
