Delighted with significant and continued rise

He said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a significant and continued increase in our GCSE results which is indicative of the hard work from our dedicated staff and students.

“There are more subjects than ever achieving level 9 and more students have obtained these levels than ever before. In particular we’re incredibly pleased with our Maths and English scores as we celebrate our best ever results in these important core subjects at The Hart School.”

GSCE highlights including 80% of pupils (31 students) scoring a level 9 in Art Photography as well as “strong passes” in a host of subjects including Music, Dance, Art, Hospitality and Catering, Spanish, History and Engineering.

“We now have more students than ever joining the school and these GCSE results support the life chances for the young people of Rugeley.”

Tours of the school in Penkridge Bank Road are available on request and there will be open days on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10.

The Hart School’s GCSE success follows a great performance at A Level. Highlights included pupils achieving an average grade B for Maths, 100% of students achieving A*-C in Sociology, as well as other notable successes in Science, Art & Design and Music.

Student James Rumbold also became the first at the high school to clock up an inspirational 3 A*s in Maths, Chemistry and Physics, and is now off to study Astrophysics at university.
