STUDENTS TAKE CENTRE STAGE AT END OF YEAR CEREMONIES

The achievements and successes of hundreds of students at City of Wolverhampton College will be celebrated at presentation ceremonies at Wolverhampton Racecourse next week.

Around 75 students who have studied for higher education (HE) qualifications will don caps and gowns for their graduation ceremony on Wednesday 4 July, whilst a further 450 students who have completed full-time courses will attend the college’s annual Student Celebration event on Thursday 5 July.

At the HE ceremony, students who have completed HNCs, HNDs and foundation degrees will receive framed certificates from college principal Malcolm Cowgill and hear from a former HE student about how her qualification has enabled her to progress in her career.

At the Student Celebration event the following day, students will receive certificates of achievement to mark the end of their course and there will also be presentations of Student of the Year award for those who have achieved outstanding success in individual subject areas.

Mal said: “These events mark the end of another successful year at the college and are an opportunity for us to congratulate our students on their achievements.

“Some students joined the college straight from school and will be returning in September to progress to the next level of study, whilst others have completed their qualifications and are heading off to university or into jobs. Meanwhile, our higher education graduates will be using the skills they have learnt on their courses to progress further in their careers in the future.”

The college is currently recruiting for courses starting in September – for details call 01902 836000.
