Students enjoy ‘fantastique’ adventure trip
Public services students at Tameside College enjoyed a trip to France on the adventure holiday of a lifetime recently to experience a range of exciting outdoor activities.
28 students from the college travelled to the Lac D’Ardres activity centre in northern France for a week-long trip.
During their stay, they took part in raft building, problem solving activities, paddleboarding, high wiring, ball sports and catamaran canoeing to help improve their individual and teamwork skills.
Taking time out from a hectic schedule, the students also visited the Canadian National Vimy Memorial to learn more about the soldiers who fought in World War one and the lives lost during the conflict.
Sjaval Safdar, public services student at Tameside College, said: “I really enjoyed taking part in the activities, most of them I have never done before so it was a completely new and exciting experience for me. The high wire activity in particular will stay with me!”
Beth McCarthy, public services teacher at Tameside College, said: “The trip was amazing, all the students got stuck into all the activities and thoroughly enjoyed taking part. I’m sure they have learnt some valuable life lessons from the trip and it was a fantastic round up to the academic year.”
