Student Business ‘Vintage Times’ reaches Young Enterprise finals with upcycled Vinyl clocks

Bath College International Business students have set up a successful business, ‘Vintage Times’. Vintage Times are a team of first year International Business students whose business idea is to prevent old unwanted vinyl records from entering landfill through upcycling them by converting them into clocks.

The company were one of just eight teams from the South West Region to be shortlisted to progress on to Regional Finals of the prestigious Young Enterprise national competition.

The students came up with the idea when they realised that their parents and grandparents had old, unloved vinyl records lying around waiting to be thrown away.

Alessia Stefan, Managing Director of Vintage Times, described how happy they are to have reached the Young Enterprise South West finals: “We went from having the smallest stand, from being hidden away, to being the most improved student company in the span of just 4 months.

“We learned so much and we pushed so hard for improvement and development. We are so proud of ourselves and of every ounce of hard work we put into this company.

“The skills we will have learned by the end of this competition will for sure set us apart in the fields of work and higher education.”

Vintage Times are currently working on new upcycled product ideas and have just launched their new website on World Earth Day to showcase their products.
