SERC Awarded CMI Assessment Centre Status

South Eastern Regional College has been awarded Chartered Manager Assessment Centre status by the Chartered Manager Institute (CMI) making the College the first and only education provider to be awarded the status in Northern Ireland.   SERC joins an elite group of just 46 assessment centres across the UK.

James Currie, Head of School Hospitality, Management, Tourism and Languages said, “Chartered Manager is the highest status that can be achieved in the management profession. Recognition as a Chartered Manager Assessment Centre allows the College to accredit CMI Chartered Managers enabling individuals to secure professional recognition for their leadership and management practice.  This builds on SERC’s status as a CMI Approved Centre.

He added, “SERC offer a range of professional accredited courses which are embedded into the curriculum for a number of programmes.  This latest achievement establishes the College as a ‘one stop shop’ in Northern Ireland for industry professionals to pursue individual assessment and professional recognition for excellence in management and leadership development.”

Chartered Managers make an essential economic contribution to the UK economy and businesses. In uncertain times, never has it been more important to ensure that all managers are professionally qualified to the highest level.  Awarded only by CMI, thousands of UK managers at all levels and across all sectors now hold and place great value on achieving Chartered Manager.

Assessment is undertaken by both written submission and professional discussion demonstrating consistent and effective performance in the past 18 months. Upon successful completion candidates will be awarded Chartered Member (CMgr MCMI) or Chartered Fellow (FCMI) dependent on experience.
