Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2021 – find out what Borders College (@BordersCollege) can do for you and your business
Borders College is supporting Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2021, which runs from the 1st to the 5th of March.
The theme this year is ‘Business Backing Talent’ and aims to demonstrate the value apprenticeships bring to individuals, employers and the economy.
As part of this, the College will be running three webinar sessions, aimed at providing information on Apprenticeships to potential apprentices, employers, parents and guidance staff.
The following sessions will be available:
Find out more about the benefits of taking on a Modern Apprentice, what qualifications apprentices can gain, funding available and lots more.
Find out more about the Apprenticeships Family. This webinar is for potential apprentices, parents, carers and guidance staff to find out how the Apprenticeship programmes work, the advantages of being an apprentice, qualifications available and lots more.
Borders College has bucked the trend in recent times and is now helping support many Apprenticeships throughout the Scottish Borders, aiding in the vital economic recovery of the region. More people and businesses are taking advantage of the Apprenticeship Family, which includes:
Foundation Apprenticeships – helping young people gain valuable, real-world work experience and access work-based learning while they are still at school.
Modern Apprenticeships – work-based training opportunities for new or existing employees, where individuals can work in paid jobs while working toward a qualification.
Graduate Apprenticeships – providing work-based learning opportunities up to Master’s degree level for employees, combining academic knowledge with skills development to enable participants to become more effective and productive in the workplace.
For businesses backing talent who can give someone the chance of an apprenticeship, there’s more support than ever before.
The Apprentice Employer Grant provides up to £5000 to recruit an apprentice. There’s additional funding to take on a redundant apprentice through Adopt an Apprentice and Pathway Apprenticeships are available for school leavers not in a job or education to gain work-based learning and qualifications in sectors with skills needs.
In these challenging times, apprentices can play a vital role in supporting businesses and the economy now and for the future.
So, if you’re interested in how Apprenticeships can benefit you and your business, what we can offer and funding available, please come and talk to us by joining one of our webinar sessions by clicking here. We look forward to seeing you there!
