Barnsley College Student designs winning Christmas card

The annual competition, open to all students, is always a highlight of the academic year and one which the College management team looks forward to judging. This year was no different with a very high standard of entries but voting produced a unanimous result in favour of Alicja’s wintry scene. The original design was produced using Photoshop which was then scanned and reproduced as an electronic and printed card.

Alicja, 18, said: “I’m very surprised I have won and look forward to doing more competitions. I submitted a few designs but I’m really pleased this one won.”

Yiannis Koursis, Principal and Chief Executive of Barnsley College, added: “This was a brilliant opportunity for our students to display their creative flair and create a design that embodies the festive spirit. I wish all our students a happy festive season and a prosperous New Year.”

As well as seeing her design professionally printed and distributed, Alicja was presented with £30 of High Street vouchers by Principal Yiannis Koursis.
