Ofsted confirms Futures’ Apprenticeships and Adult Provision Having Beneficial Impact

Paul Price-Hazlehurst, Futures CEO

@Ofstednews’s recent visit to Futures (@Futures_mngt) confirms reasonable and significant progress across the board in apprenticeships and adult learning.

Ofsted were taking a close look at how we ensure everyone benefits from high-quality training and positive outcomes whilst establishing effective safeguarding measures to make sure learners are  safe and well-informed throughout their journey with Futures and beyond.

Ofsted found we used our “experience of business services and careers guidance to develop apprenticeships effectively,” with progress reviews being “developmental and thorough”. We’re really proud to be able to offer our apprentices access extra support when they struggle with their learning and “a high proportion of apprentices achieve distinction grades.”

For our adult provision, “Courses are well planned and very motivational. Learners relate well to their teachers, who work hard to put them at ease. Good collaboration and high participation in classes, in person and online, help prepare learners for the world of work. Teachers incorporate English and mathematics extremely well into their teaching, helping learners, who are often reluctant, to develop these skills.”

Pinning this together is what Ofsted refers to as our “extensive and well-qualified safeguarding team”, who review trends and local information to inform their approach with strong links to the Prevent networks to keep staff well informed.

“Whilst the report is positive and it cannot be overemphasised how proud we are of our learning staff who truly go above and beyond every day, we still continue to build on our practice and develop. We want to ensure we’re delivering a high level of service to our learners for many years to come.” Paul Price-Hazlehurst, Futures CEO

“We are very proud of the journey so far; our well-defined strategy and quality driven teams will ensure we continue to improve every day and learners enjoy a great experience with us.” Daphne Saxelby, Head of Quality
