Hundreds attend as the UK College of the Year opens its doors
Hundreds flocked to Fareham College’s open evening on Wednesday 3 October to learn more about the award-winning college, judged Outstanding by Ofsted and winner of Times Education Supplement’s College of the Year.
Fareham College, which offers a wide choice of subjects, enjoys excellent success rates and has seen £28m of new campus developments, welcomed students and parents wanting to see its industry-ready facilities and discover more about the range of courses on offer.
Francesca Ralley, who attended the open event, said:
“I’m interested in studying musical theatre and was encouraged to come today to find out more about the college and the courses available. I’ve now had an opportunity to look at the department and really liked it and the courses it offers.”
This year the college saw an outstanding overall pass rate of more than 98 per cent in Advanced Level 3 Diplomas, with over half of students completing their Level 3 qualifications achieving high grades, and over 20 per cent achieving the highest possible grades available.
Nigel Duncan, Principal of Fareham College, commented:
“We love any opportunity to open our doors and showcase the amazing work of our students. Open events are really important, they give those considering professional and technical training the opportunity to discover more about the courses and options available. A huge thank you to all the staff, students and visitors that supported the evening.”
The college is hosting another open evening on Tuesday 20 November, 5-8pm.
