Havant & South Downs College has an extensive and growing Music offering
For students interested in all aspects of the music industry, @Be_HSDC can help you define your starting point in the music industry through a range of courses across our three campuses.
Are you interested in learning to compose new music as a band or artist, performing on a stage at a festival or running stages at music venues or festivals? Do you enjoy singing or playing an instrument?
New for September 2021 on our Alton Campus, we will have an expanded offering with Music Performance and Production UAL Level 3 Diplomas and Extended Diplomas in Rock and Pop or Jazz.
A Level Music is offered on both our Alton and Havant campuses where students encounter a wide range of experiences. An eclectic mix of music is studied, workshops are hosted by high-profile musicians and visits to first-class venues and events are organised.
In addition, Alton offers A Level Music Technology, which combines theoretical and practical aspects and features guest speakers and industry trips, as well as highly practical vocational courses in Music Performance and Production. New courses in Rock and Pop or Jazz start in September 2021, which will develop an understanding of harmony and melody and will provide the skills to be able to adopt many different roles within the music industry, whether that be composing, performing, teaching or running a business as a music therapist or venue manager.
On our South Downs Campus, we have been training music professionals since the 1990s in Music Performance and Music Production. Students can sign up for UAL courses from Level 2 to Level 4. Having educational partnerships in place with international equipment brands such as Native Instruments, Focusrite and Sontronics, we are well placed to constantly stay on track with modern music production and performance techniques within this exciting and ever-changing industry. Students have the opportunity to perform at local music venues, such as The Wedgewood Rooms and Victorious Festival.
Professional lecturers, who have been picked from within the music industry and still practice what they teach, facilitate and encourage their students to pursue their dreams.
