BESA launches BESS Vietnam event

BESA launches BESS Vietnam to give British suppliers the chance to enter the booming Vietnamese market

The British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA) will next week launch BESS Vietnam, (the British Educational Suppliers Show Vietnam), to give twenty-five British suppliers the chance to enter the education market in Vietnam. BESS Vietnam will be the first BESA event in the Vietnamese market, following the success of BESS Asia in Malaysia and BESS Dubai in the UAE.

BESA will be partnering with VsionGlobal in the running of the event, which will take place on 5 and 6 March 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City.

  • Each UK exhibitor has a workshop on various topics from Early Years to coding.
  • Twenty-five British suppliers are attending with many taking advantage of DIT’s Tradeshow Access Programme, which BESA will be administering.
  • BESS Vietnam is supported by the MoE in Vietnam.

Vietnam has been experiencing rapid and inclusive economic growth since the early 1990s (World Bank, 2016). After developing the Fundamental School Quality Level in 2006, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) is now looking to change the country’s curriculum, aiming to have new resources in place by 2020. This is an exciting time for the UK to get involved in a growing education market.

Caroline Wright, Director General of BESA, said:

“BESS VIETNAM 2019 is a new and exciting collaboration between the Ministry of Education Vietnam, the British Educational Suppliers Association and VsionGlobal showcasing the very best of British curriculum, assessment and classroom products and resources.

His Excellency Mr Phung Xuan Nha, the Minister of Education and Training for Vietnam, is leading an innovative and forward-focused transformation of the Vietnamese education system. In Britain too we have undergone significant change in our own education system and through our new joint event BESS Vietnam I look forward to Vietnamese educationalists and policy-makers from both the public and private education system meeting to discuss the latest developments in pedagogy, and teaching and learning, alongside world-leading UK educational resource suppliers.”

About BESA, the British Educational Suppliers Association: The only trade association covering the entirety of the UK educational suppliers sector. It has an 85-year heritage serving the sector, and represents over 400 suppliers, including manufacturers and distributors of equipment, materials, books, consumables, furniture, technology, ICT hardware and digital-content related services to the education market. Combined, they generate approximately £2.2 billion of revenue each year.

BESA is dedicated to showcasing the world-leading educational products and services provided by British educational suppliers, and providing support and advice to its members, the industry and to schools looking for the best resources and services.

It founded the BETT show in 1985, the largest EdTech exhibition in the world, GESS Dubai (previously known as BES Dubai) in 2007 and the Education World Forum in 2011.

Working closely with the Department for Trade, BESA helps take over two hundred companies overseas every year to a wide range of important export markets, from the US to Malaysia and China, providing intelligence briefings, logistical support and often substantial bursaries.

BESA has a Code of Practice to which all members must adhere, along with a stringent membership process, both of which assure buyers of a high standard of quality in both product and customer service.
