Enterprise City Campus encompassing culture, enterprise and unlimited opportunity in the heart of Manchester

Plans have been unveiled for a new development called Enterprise City Campus in central Manchester which could employ up to 15,000 media and tech workers.

St. Johns is Manchester’s newest city centre neighbourhood, an increasingly evolving world underpinned by enterprise, culture and living, three constituents of the neighbourhood in a bid to bring it to life.

Diverse regeneration across this pocket of Manchester will form part of the cities commercial heartbeat and present a new hive of Manchester activity that will encourage its international profile to soar and set it poles apart from its peer cities.

Enterprise City Campus is part of the St. John’s masterplan in Manchester city centre and could provide a home for 15,000 tech and media workers as 1960 office blocks will be revitalised to fit in with the keeping of innovative Manchester – named Enterprise City Campus.

The expansion of Enterprise City is at the heart of the £1.35 billion St. John’s masterplan.

The revamp of Astley & Byrom House, two interlinked 1960s offices on the edge of Spinningfields, will ‘be brought back to life’ with planning permission for a 270,000 sq. ft. rebuild – renamed ABC.

Enterprise City Campus features 500,000 sq. ft. integrated series of buildings.

Construction work has already begun on ABC, a three-building cluster that has sat derelict for 10 years which was earmarked for demolition by its previous owners.

Aiming to celebrate the buildings original 1960s architectural features, the development is marketed as a new home for film, TV, media and tech companies looking for a presence in Manchester city centre. Undoubtedly fitting, the site was formerly the location or Granada TV studios therefore the creation of St. John’s will re-establish and build on this preserved heritage.

Over time, 2,500 homes, 600,000 sq. ft. of workspace for the creative industries, 400,000 sq. ft. of leisure space will be created to provide the existing and new community with unparalleled opportunities for work, living, and to experience the city of Manchester with its own distinct character and sense of place.

The launch of Enterprise City has been extremely successful, the short-term view adopts a creative and positive approach to the new acquisition whilst improving the use of the building to be in keeping with modern day standards.
