Creative arts summer showcase

THE Creative Arts Faculty at Weston College is to hold its annual Summer Show for the 29th year running.

Hundreds of students are participating in the event, which is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the College’s University Campus on Loxton Road.

The show, which will have its opening night on Tuesday 14th June from 6pm-9pm, is run by the Faculty of Creative Arts and features both Further and Higher Education students.

It is open to the public from Wednesday 15th June until Thursday 23rd June between 10am-4pm, and on Saturday 18th June from 10am-2pm. The show will be closed on Sunday 19th June.

There will be a chance to see work from students on a wide variety of courses including art and design, graphics, photography, film and media and music. There will also be opportunities to purchase unique pieces of art.

Sarah Clark, Creative Arts Head of Faculty, said: “The show is an opportunity to celebrate the journey that is education, acknowledge achievement and plan for the future.

“There will be work from over 700 students ranging from Level 2 to BA Honours.

“A third of the faculty is now Higher Education with 14 degree programmes validated by Bath Spa and the University of the West of England.”

The event is free to attend and everyone is welcome. Throughout the show staff will be available to provide advice and guidance on our Creative Arts programmes including full-time, part-time and degree level courses.
