CPD training to raise standards and develop careers in personal lines insurance

CII OFFERS FOUNDATION TRAINING IN PERSONAL LINES INSURANCE

The Chartered Insurance Institute has produced a free online learning course covering personal lines insurance.

Anyone can visit the Future Learn site and sign up to a free four-week online course and learn more about home, car, travel and pet insurance.

The course will run three times a year, with the course set to go live on 14 October.

Each Monday articles and videos covering basic personal lines insurance topics are released on the website. Individuals who have signed up to the course are then asked questions about what they have read or viewed to make sure they engaged with the information.

The content each week is equivalent to two hours of learning, which can count towards CPD. There is also an upgrade option, where for a fee those taking part in the course get a multiple-choice test at the end of each week.

On successful completion of these four tests, the individuals get a competition certificate.

Sian Fisher, chief executive of the Chartered Insurance Institute, said:

“This online course is about building up a foundation knowledge of home, car, travel and pet insurance.

“If you are working in a call centre and used to e-training, formal training can seem daunting. This online training course helps get you ready for that next step towards a formal qualification and further developing your career.

“This is a great free resource that we hope employers and employees will tap into in order to help their employees develop their personal lines insurance career and further raise standards across the profession.”
