Committing to Nottingham and training 160 Nottingham citizens
Futures Advice, Skills and Employment are proud to announce that this summer they have made their first property investment in the heart of Nottingham, as well as training 160 local people at their new training facility in the city centre.
Futures have been working from the newly purchased premises on Maid Marian Way in the citycentre for the past few years, running their customer support centre. This high street position enables Futures to offer a walk-in and appointments service for Nottingham people looking to access careers and training advice, as well as those looking for apprenticeship opportunities.
Purchasing this property not only helps to cement their position in this fantastic city, investing in the heart of the East Midlands, it also helps to maintain consistency for their customers who know where to find them and regularly use our services.
Just down the road on Friar Lane, Futures have also created a brand new training facility in ‘The Hub’, not only creating a wider resource for local people looking for more opportunities to learn and up-skill, but also creating new jobs for local people.
In fact, since November 1st 2017, they trained 160 people in Nottingham through their work at The Hub, with outstanding achievement rates.
Futures Chief Executive, John Yarham, said of the move:
“Nottingham has been our base for a long time, and as a thriving organisation, we’re delighted to be cementing our commitment to the city and setting down roots at its heart. This isn’t just about owning a building, but being part of a city, which is currently seeing fantastic regeneration.”
The building on Maid Marian Way is one of three Futures careers centres across the East Midlands and is open for drop-in support from 10am till 4pm on week days. As well as front-of-house support services, the building also accommodates some office and meeting space.
