Barnsley College receives Beacon Awards commendation
Barnsley College has been recognised as an AoC Beacon Award commended college after demonstrating a high level of innovation, impact and sustainability.
The College met the AoC Beacon Award standard in the two award categories: the Careers and Enterprise Company Award for Innovation in Careers and Enterprise and the NOCN Award for Mental Health and Wellbeing.
The Careers and Enterprise Company Award for Innovation in Careers and Enterprise celebrates outstanding examples of innovative careers leadership and practice when engaging with schools, employers and other agencies, to provide students with excellent impartial careers education, advice and guidance.
The NOCN Award for Mental Health and Wellbeing celebrates the important work colleges are doing to support the mental health and wellbeing of their students and staff and the sustainability of their work in this area.
Yiannis Koursis, Principal and Chief Executive of Barnsley College, said:
“We are delighted to have received commended college status in careers, enterprise and mental health and wellbeing. As a College, we place a great deal of emphasis on our work in these key areas, in order to give students the skills to make informed decisions on their future and achieve a healthy mindset. Therefore we are proud to have been recognised for this work.”
