Tameside College and Clarendon Sixth Form College praised for supporting students

Tameside College and Clarendon Sixth Form College received a glowing report for their services to students, following their latest ‘matrix’ accreditation assessment.

The verdict confirms the college’s commitment to providing an excellent learning environment for students, adding to its recent Ofsted ‘Good’ rating.

The matrix accreditation is the quality standard for providers of information, advice and guidance (IAG).

The college was praised for its ‘highly competent staff members who have an understanding of the needs of young people, supported by the most appropriate department for them.’

The assessment also reflected on the college’s drive to constantly improve the overall student journey: ‘There is a consistent and cohesive process for working together across the wider college team’ with ‘siginificant steps taken to embed IAG across the curriculum by a dedicated central services to students team.’

Emma Armitage, director of learning and pastoral support at Tameside College and Clarendon Sixth Form College, said: “We are extremely pleased to have received such a positive assessment. This recognises the strategies, development and improvements that we have put in place since our previous accreditation in 2015. Tameside College is committed to providing the best service to its students and ensuring they receive the absolute best service whilst with us.”

The news comes as Tameside College prepares to make the move into its newest campus, Tameside One, in the heart of Ashton-under-Lyne. This is part of the ‘Vision Tameside’ strategy which also includes the development of the construction skills centre in 2020.
