Gower College Swansea awarded NEBOSH Gold status
Gower College Swansea has been awarded Gold NEBOSH Learning Partner status – an official seal of approval for its delivery of health and safety courses.
The College currently delivers four accredited NEBOSH courses – the General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, the Level 3 Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, the National Certificate in Environmental Management, and the National Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NCC1 and 2) – via its GCS Training provision based at Jubilee Court, Fforestfach.
NEBOSH is a leading global organisation which provides health, safety and environmental qualifications which help to raise the competence of safety and environmental professionals as well as individuals at all levels in the workplace.
To qualify for Gold status, the College demonstrated that it ‘greatly exceeds’ expectations in delivering six identified learning excellence principles, namely:
- Ensuring all learners understand what is expected of them and what they can expect from their learning provider
- Creating a learning environment that is engaging and encourages interaction that is appropriate for the course and type of delivery
- Providing accurate course materials and continually updating and improving them
- Ensuring tutors are qualified, knowledgeable, competent and engaging
- Giving learners feedback on their progress and providing appropriate support
- Reviewing course delivery and learner feedback and actioning as necessary.
“We are really pleased to have been designated Gold NEBOSH Learning Partner status,” says Paul Kift, Gower College Swansea’s Director of Skills and Business Development. “This is testament not only to the professionalism and high standards of our teaching staff but also the entire GCS Training team who help and support our many customers through their learning experience.”
Some recent customer feedback:
“Using Gower College Swansea for my NEBOSH Fire and Risk assessment was an easy and enjoyable experience. From the offset, I was supplied with all the details…throughout the course I was trained with a group and knew I had 1-2-1 support as I needed it…my tutor had an enjoyable teaching style, working though the syllabus and bringing it to life through his own personal experiences and stories…the course very enjoyable and worth the four hour drive from Barnstaple…each week”
Dennis Hassan, Operations Manager (PH Jones – part of British Gas)
“Having completed the NEBOSH General, Environmental and Fire Certificates with Gower College Swansea, I would like to comment on how informative the courses were. My tutors made the courses interesting, with a lot of real life examples gained from their experience in the EHS area.”
