City College Plymouth, Transforming Education With G-Suite Enterprise.
City College Plymouth (@CityPlym) is a large education and training provider in the South West of England. Established in 1887, the College has grown to its position today with more than 600 staff serving over 12,000 students contributing more than £61 million to the economy.
In early 2020 the College was seeking to transform workflows to enable its students to work collaboratively using untethered technologies aligned to excellent teaching practice. After researching leading global solutions the College decided to deploy Chromebooks along with Google G Suite Enterprise for Education.
Working closely with Google for Education Premier Partner C-Learning and Google, the College has started to transform its productivity and impact on the learning experience. As Google G Suite Enterprise for Education can be accessed on any device or location students can now learn in a way aligned to their lifestyles and in more progressive ways aligned to industry practice.
The combination of G-Suite Enterprise for Education that includes Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Classroom, Google Drive and more with a Chromebook deployment proved to be a winning combination.
Jackie Grubb, Principal and CEO, City College Plymouth, said:
“The consistency of this platform has enabled the College to develop a more cohesive organisational development strategy, which has had a positive impact on the student experience. Having one platform-agnostic suite of tools has dramatically increased the quality of the resources available online, allowing for greater levels of collaborative learning and enhancing the online learning experience.”
Chief Digital Transformation Officer at the College Mark Trewin said:
“Google Enterprise for Education provides us with the leading collaborative productivity platform for both our students and staff so they benefit from industry standard technologies. It’s enabling the College to be better connected and productive at the same time as accelerating our plans to transform our systems and processes. The world of work is also changing rapidly and the ability to use mobile, collaborative cloud based platforms is an essential skill. Working closely with Google for Education Premier Partner C-Learning we are on a journey to equip our students with real world advantage so they can harness high growth and high value opportunities”.
Jamie Smith, Executive Chairman of Google for Education Premier Partner C-Learning commented:
