Care training provider receives Outstanding Ofsted Grade in all areas of provision

Northern Care Training (NCT) has been awarded ‘Outstanding’ in every area of provision by Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills.

As a leading care provider in the North East of England, NCT has received the highest possible grade in all the individual categories including quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare, outcomes for learners, apprenticeship provision, leadership and management, and overall effectiveness.

Since the business was purchased by the Profound Group in 2011, it has gone from strength to strength.  The last five years has seen 3178 learners complete an apprenticeship programme and become qualified to work or progress into careers in the health and social care industry ranging from adult social care to childcare.

The report defined that the support for learners is “Outstanding”, noting that “learners receive exceptional support to enable them to progress successfully in their career in ways that transform their lives.”

Apprentices were said to “rapidly gain a high level of confidence in working with others” and were able to “rise to the challenge of taking personal responsibility for making decisions.”

Praise was given towards NCT’s Training Advisors who “ensure that learners make exceptional progress” and have “high ambitions for their learners.”

The report highlighted the training provider’s “excellent links with employers” who they work closely with to “ensure learners have appropriate opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.”

It was also highlighted that the training provider “works very effectively on community projects in educationally disadvantaged areas across the country.”
