Cardiff and Vale College – supporting businesses to develop their workforce through funded training
Cardiff and Vale College has been appointed as the sole provider in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan for a new pan-Wales programme offering businesses up to 70% funding for accredited courses across a range of sectors.
‘Upskilling@Work’ is supported by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government. It is designed to enhance skills, increase productivity in the workplace and facilitate business growth.
Employers can access funding for NVQ Levels 1 to 5 qualifications in areas such as Business Administration, Customer Service, Health and Social Care and Hospitality and Catering.
Prominent businesses in the Cardiff and Vale area, including Pobl Group, Wales Millennium Centre, Linc-Cymru and PMR, are already working with CAVC to access UpSkilling@Work funding to support investment in workforce development.
Pobl Group, an organisation with more than 2,500 staff, has enrolled a number of staff on to qualifications with CAVC using UpSkilling@Work funding. Its Learning and Development Manager, Janice Dent, said: “Pobl Group is pleased to be working with Cardiff and Vale College to upskill our staff using UpSkilling@Work ESF funding.
“This has allowed us to enrol staff members on their QCF Diplomas which has enabled them to make even more of a difference to customers. Throughout our relationship with the College we have received unanimously positive feedback from staff who have praised the consistency and quality of the course.”
Cardiff and Vale College has a dedicated team who work with businesses in all sectors across the region, from small and medium sized enterprises through to large public and private sector organisations.
