Cambridge Regional College and Net Zero Buildings come together to deliver new apprenticeship

Cambridge Regional College (@CRC_College) and Net Zero Buildings (@NZBuildings) have come together to form an exciting new partnership that will open up manufacturing apprenticeship opportunities across Cambridgeshire.

CRC prides itself on being employer responsive and over the past six months the Employer Engagement team have been working closely with Net Zero Buildings to plan the delivery of a new apprenticeship scheme that will create learning and employment opportunities across the region.  

The Construction, Assembly and Installation Operative Apprenticeship, which sits under the Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) umbrella of qualifications, will be delivered to around 60 apprentices over the next 12 months. Apprentices have already started on the training programme with a second cohort starting soon.

Net Zero Buildings is a rapidly expanding business that is committed to supporting personal development and upskilling the workforce. There is a strong focus on staff development to support the growth of the business. The introduction of the apprenticeship in October 2020 will see existing staff developing new skills to support the business as well as the appointment of new staff.  The company aims to develop and expand its training academy with CRC in 2021 which will see up to 50 apprentices training at any one time.
