Caerphilly Councils major investment into education
A staggering sum of £100 million has been invested in schools and educational infrastructure across the county borough as part of the councils ambitious Place Shaping programme.
A new campaign has been launched to throw a spotlight on some of the major investments that have taken place across the county borough ranging from large scale 21st Century school developments to smaller scale upgrades and improvement schemes, as well as Flying Start childcare provisions.
A key element of the Place Shaping programme is centred around meaningful, localised investment that listens to the needs of the community and aims to make a real difference. The dedicated web page offers an overview of the investment in order to set the scene for residents and to enable them to better understand where and how funds have been spent.
Cabinet Member for Education and Leisure, Cllr. Ross Whiting said, “The investment that has already been made in education is a testament to our commitment to support our young residents to improve, achieve and become inspired during their educational journey. The Place Shaping programme has already made a huge difference to our communities and we have only just begun. The Place Shaping campaign is designed to show residents where money has already been invested so we are able to work together to identify gaps and plan for future investment. It is a very exciting time for residents to shape the future for generations to come.”
He continued, “Raising standards in education is a key strategic priority of Caerphilly County Borough Council – and with your help, we can ensure that the future for the children and young people of our County Borough is bright.”
