Business boost for future personal trainers

Students on a Personal Trainer course at Cambridge Regional College have received sponsorship as well as business advice from a local company to help them in their future careers.

Nutrition supplements manufacturer QNT Sport UK, based in Littleport, sponsored students on the six-month course with branded clothing and bags – and helped them take the first steps in their career with business help and advice.

Key Account Manager Sharon Wilson visited the college to present the students with their new hoodies, shirts and bags, and delivered a masterclass in nutrition with a big helping of business advice.

Dale Turner, head of Uniformed Public Services at CRC, said the college was putting a new emphasis on business training as part of the course.

“The support from QNT is invaluable and we are very grateful for their sponsorship and business advice,” he said.

“Most of the students on the personal trainer course are interested in setting up their own business once they qualify and so we wanted to develop an extra entrepreneurial element to the programme.”

Sharon said: “As a company we work a lot with trainers and athletes and it was a pleasure to sponsor the students and pass on some business experience.”

During the course, students will also learn how to develop their own websites and make their own videos marketing themselves to potential clients.

“All of the extra elements of the programme mean students will be in a position to launch a readymade business when they qualify as a personal trainer,” said Dale.
