Borders College launches its strategic ambition for the Borders and beyond
A strategic ambition to benefit not only @BordersCollege but the Scottish Borders and beyond. This was the message delivered by the Principal of Borders College, Angela Cox, at the official launch of the organisation’s Strategic Ambition 2020-2025 recently.
In attendance at the online event were over ninety participants, from across Scotland, representing a host of organisations from local businesses to Edinburgh University and Skills Development Scotland.
The event, which provided an opportunity for the representatives to feedback to the College with their views on how the ambition could be realised, proved thought-provoking and informative.
Angela said:
“The opportunities for the Scottish Borders and the South of Scotland as a whole are significant as we are a region with a wealth of innovation, talent and excellence. Borders College will work with our partners, taking a leading role in responding to the challenges we face by providing outstanding training and learning opportunities for our employers, our students, and our community.”
Joining Angela were guest speakers, Professor Russell Griggs, Chair of SoSE, Iain Gulland – Chief Executive Officer of Zero Waste Scotland, Jane Morrison Ross – Chief Executive Officer of ScotlandIS and Dave Gorman – Director of Social Responsibility and Sustainability at Edinburgh University, whose areas of specialism align with the key themes of the Strategic Ambition.
Commenting on the strategic ambition, Professor Russel Griggs said:
“Regionally focussed – globally engaged – four words I couldn’t have written better myself.”
