Blackpool and The Fylde College welcomes Education Secretary

Blackpool and The Fylde College welcomed the Secretary of State for Education to its Fleetwood Nautical Campus for a tour of its outstanding education and training facilities.

During the visit, the Rt Hon Justine Greening MP met with College Principal Bev Robinson to discuss B&FC’s Ofsted outstanding technical and professional education provision.

B&FC is the largest college provider of Higher Education STEM courses in England – according to the Higher Education Funding Council – and prepares people for careers in a wide range of specialised fields including aerospace, maritime, engineering, health, energy and digital industries.

The event provided an opportunity for a discussion about the benefits of the College’s technical and professional education, which provides proven paths into quality employment in sought-after professions.

Following the visit, the Rt Hon Justine Greening MP said: “We want to make Britain a country that works for everyone, not just the privileged few. That means widening horizons and creating opportunities for young people across the country who otherwise might not get the chance to make the most of their talents.”
