Barnsley College’s Sports Academy teams up with Worsbrough Bridge Football Club
Barnsley College’s Sports Academy has formed a partnership with Worsbrough Bridge Football Club to give talented football players opportunities at both clubs.
The new agreement could open doors for College students who are looking to get a foothold in football. Students from the academy will have the opportunity to play showcase games, enjoy a match day experience and coaching sessions from first team staff at Worsbrough Bridge.
Students will also have the chance to gain relevant experience in match analysis, sports therapy, strength and conditioning, coaching, sports journalism and media opportunities with the local non-league club.
Peter Schofield, Worsbrough Bridge Football Club Chairman, said:
“We are delighted to have partnered with Barnsley College. The College is well known for its education and football pedigree. We look forward to working in partnership.”
Luke Forgione, Sports Performance and Athlete Development Coordinator at Barnsley College, added:
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for male footballers of the College. This is where it all started for me, in the non-league system when I was 19. It’s a great club and is well known in the local area for giving youth an opportunity to progress. We look forward to a long and mutually-beneficial partnership.”
