Ambitious Graduates Can Now Apply for Health and Social Care Graduate Management Programme
Applications now open for health and social care Graduate Management programme
Skills for Care is urging ambitious graduates to apply for one of the places on their one-year Graduate Management programme, before 1 April 2019.
Graduates will start the programme in October 2019 that’s been developed in partnership with the NHS Leadership Academy, the Department of Health and Social Care and the sector’s employers who will host the graduates in their organisations across the country.
The Graduate Management programme matches graduates with forward-thinking employers, offering invaluable experience in both social care and health settings and fast-tracks graduates into leadership roles. They will develop the skills and knowledge to become an effective leader to make a real impact on the lives of others.
Skills for Care CEO Sharon Allen said:
“The Graduate Management programme is a wonderful opportunity for graduates of all backgrounds to work in social care and health, with a clear pathway into leadership and management in a rewarding sector. We will be facing many challenges in the coming years, so having an injection of fresh-thinking and new ideas will help the sector support the most vulnerable people in our communities.
“Our graduates are identified through our values-based recruitment and selection process to ensure they have what it takes to succeed. Previous graduates have gone on to enjoy permanent roles in our sector, and I’m confident our new programme will produce some influential future leaders.”
During the one-year programme, graduates will contribute to the leadership and management of quality care across social care and health, and achieve two fully-funded qualifications. They will acquire the right tools and knowledge to progress into strategic leadership roles.
Daniel Little joined The Good Care Group for his graduate placement last year, and has accepted a permanent role at the organisation. He said: “I am back at my placement host organisation and I am undertaking care manager training – poised to take on the role that I have been so excited to get into all year.
“I am looking forward to the heightened sense of fulfilment that I expect to come from working with my own clients and carers.”
Who can apply?
The programme is open to graduates from any degree subject. They must:
- have graduated in the last seven years
- have/will have at least a 2:2 degree by September 2019
- have the right values and ambitions for a career in care.
