WEST LONDON COLLEGE NAMED EDUCATION AND TRAINING PROVIDER OF THE YEAR
West London College was named the Education & Training Provider of the Year last night (Thursday, 10 February 2022) at the West London Business Awards for its work running the West London Hub of the Mayor’s Construction Academy (MCA). The black tie event was held at Twickenham Stadium and former British tennis player, now radio and TV presenter Annabel Croft gave out the glittering awards.
In a fiercely competitive category, the award recognises and celebrates training providers that make a positive impact on West London’s economy through their high-quality provision.
Making the award, the judges commented: “The West London MCA have been undertaking great knowledge exchange and stakeholder engagement projects in this difficult period. [They have made] really impressive use of social media campaigns in targeting women and BAME subgroups, diversifying their audience and this sustained commitment is paying off.”
David Warnes, Deputy Principal, West London college said: “I am thrilled to win the award. It’s our second win in three years.”
“A big thank you also needs to go out to all of the Hub’s partners – the training providers, employers, local authorities, charities and others who have supported the construction Hub over the last two years – we have a brilliant partnership of talented people and organisations across West London working together to raise the profile of construction, deliver world class training and help as many people as possible into construction jobs, training and apprenticeships.”
“It was also lovely to attend a face-to-face awards event. Thank you to West London Business for hosting a fantastic evening.
The West London Hub of the Mayor’s Construction Academy aims to help Londoners train in the skills needed to help more West Londoners train in the skills they need to access construction jobs in the capital. If you would like to know more contact Barry Mortimer, Hub Co-ordinator [email protected]
