Sir Michael Morpurgo OBE to discuss literary career at Kent event (1 December)

The celebrated author Sir Michael Morpurgo OBE (@MichaelMorpugo) will join University of Kent (@UniKent) Chancellor Gavin Esler to talk about the process of writing and publishing, as well as his charity Farms for City Children,at a public event on 1 December. 

The event, which is the latest in the University’s ‘In Conversation’ series, will take place at 18.30 at the Gulbenkian Arts Centre on the Canterbury campus. Launched in 2015, each event in the series consists of an informal conversation between Gavin Esler and a leading public figure.  

Sir Michael is one of Britain’s best-loved story makers, having written over 130 books including the celebrated War Horse. He was awarded the OBE for his writing in 2006. His latest novels are When Fishes FlewCarnival of the Animals and Song of Gladness.  

Other guests in the current series include Bake Off’s Prue Leith and crime author Val McDermid, following this year’s opening event with famed sailor Sir Robin Knox-Johnston in September.
