From education to employment

NCL Offers New Forward-Thinking Courses for Enrolment in January 2023

Career-focused offerings include industry-specific courses in E-Sports, Fashion & Textiles, and Police Studies

New College Lanarkshire has updated its list of available full-time courses, unveiling opportunities for enrolment onto new courses beginning in January 2023. With courses diving into specialist and innovative topics, these new courses centre around fast-growing sectors leading to in-demand roles.

Creating courses that focus on education in upcoming and developing sectors, NCL is turning its attention towards education opportunities which provide specialist skills suited to chosen roles, ranging from Introductions to Fashion & Textiles to Step Into Engineering Skills.

Sandra McLoughlan, Dean for Student Recruitment and Experience at New College Lanarkshire expressed excitement about the new offerings: “The job market evolves rapidly, and education opportunities should reflect that. As emerging markets continue to develop, it’s important to deliver courses which are focused on the cutting edge of competitive markets.

“Our new range of courses provides learning which will benefit students far beyond their time in education and will give them a strong foundation upon which to build sector-specific careers. We look forward to welcoming new students to undertake these courses in January.”

Amongst the new opportunities is NCL’s cutting-edge Introduction to E-Sports course, which offers targeted insight into the background of E-Sports along with applicable learning in the management and daily tasks of a career in E-Sports. These topics cover the creation of an E-Sports brand, E-Sports event organisation, and live-stream broadcasting.

Another fresh course for 2023, the Introduction to Police Studies course offers an early opportunity for students to explore the contemporary challenges of modern policing. For students looking to continue their education in policing, NCL has an already-established avenue of progression. Successful students can progress onto COPPER (Certificate of Preparation for Police Examination and Recruitment), the college’s one-year police studies programme in autumn 2023.

New College Lanarkshire’s courses begin in the new year, with the start date for these courses set as 23rd January 2023.
