Leicester College hosts Apprenticeship Fair for National Apprenticeship Week

Leicester College (@LeicesterColl) is celebrating National Apprenticeship Week (7-13 February 2022) by inviting potential apprentices to an Apprenticeship Fair on 9 February at the Freemen’s Park Campus. At the Fair, students can learn about the range of courses on offer and meet potential employers including Ibstock dental practice, JRDM and William Davies Homes.

The College is the largest apprenticeship training delivery organisation in Leicester and there are currently over 760 Leicester College students working with local businesses in apprentice roles.

Apprenticeship courses are available in a range of industries including adult care and early years, business administration, construction, dental nursing, engineering, and hairdressing.

A number of qualified assessors will be on hand at the Apprenticeship Fair to offer advice and information to learners who aren’t sure in which area they’d like to work. For more information on Apprenticeship Fair at Leicester College, click here.

The College will also be hosting a range of activities/events on its social media platforms and website during National Apprenticeship Week:

The apprenticeship courses help students to learn new skills and gain experience to succeed in their chosen career, whilst being paid an apprenticeship wage, plus the national minimum wage. The length of apprenticeships depend on the level and area of employment, and range from 12-48 months.

All apprenticeships involve 80 per cent of the student’s time spent at their workplace and types of study format include day release to attend college, block release at college and study time away from their day-to-day role within the workplace.

The Apprenticeship Fair and events across National Apprenticeship Week will provide interested people with more information to help them make a decision on how an apprenticeship can work for them.”

National Apprenticeship Week is an annual celebration of apprenticeships that brings the whole apprenticeship community together to celebrate the impact of apprenticeships on individuals, employers and the economy.
