SERC Level 2 Health and Social Care student Erin Sandison is on the pathway to success, as she gains a work promotion whilst studying on an apprenticeship at SERC.

Erin came to SERC after completing her A Levels at Bangor Academy. She was initially approached by her manager, who introduced and encouraged her to enrol at the College to complete a Further Education qualification within the healthcare sector. She now works in the healthcare sector and has recently been promoted to the role of senior care assistant whilst studying at SERC.

On her course, Erin commented, “I would recommend this course to anybody wanting to study in SERC or thinking of doing a Health and Social Care Apprenticeship. This course gives you the opportunity to work and study at the same time, therefore giving you a huge understanding of the job role within the health and social care sector. With the help of great tutors, you are made to feel welcome and at ease. They always offer help and support to the students when you need it.”

“I hope to move on and complete a Level 3 in Health and Social Care course, as this can help me go onto Higher Education such as university. I would like to study nursing and these qualifications give me a better understanding of what to expect in due course.”

“Overall, I would recommend SERC because it is a friendly and encouraging environment, with huge support from all staff. It is a great opportunity to widen your knowledge and gives you more understanding of topics that you enjoy learning about. There’s something for everybody, as there are a huge range of courses on offer at all levels.”
