Destinations for Barton Peveril’s successful students include universities across the world, top conservatoires and highly sought after apprenticeships.
Amongst the students that received their results, a record number were offered places to study at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. A total of 24 students at the Hampshire-based College secured places this year, with 18 earning an offer from the University of Oxford and 6 from Cambridge University.
Speaking on this record achievement for Barton Peveril, Principal Rob Temple said:
“These are fantastic results. Schools and colleges were warned that we should expect results to be lower than in 2021. The fact that our students have achieved even better grades is a testament to the students’ hard work, application and resilience and a wonderful endorsement of the commitment and skill of the staff at the College in supporting the young people to achieve their potential.
“This cohort studied for their qualifications during a uniquely challenging period and have endured significant disruption since 2020; their secondary education came to an abrupt halt before they could finish Year 11, meaning that the exams they sat with us were the first real exams they had ever experienced. I am delighted that they are able to celebrate such amazing results.“
Amongst the students receiving their results was Lamar Mukundi, who joined the College from St. Mary’s Independent School. Mukundi secured A*, A*, B, in English Language & Literature, Psychology, and Biology respectively, and an A in Extended Project. Lamar Mukundi will now join law firm Norton Rose Fulbright as a Solicitor Apprentice.
Students Ellie Martin and Emilia Parzyszek both earned places to study Medicine, at Queen’s University Belfast and Imperial College London, respectively, after each securing A*, A*, A* in their A Level results.
Speaking on her success, Ellie Martin said:
“After a really challenging couple of years having been in and out of hospital, I am over the moon to have achieved three A*s in my A Levels and be off to study Medicine in Belfast. My teachers have been so supportive and I can’t wait to get started on the next path in my career. It just goes to show anything is possible!”
Archie Williams has secured his Degree Apprenticeship in Chemical Manufacturing with Eaton, Titchfield, after success in his results securing a C in Mathematics, B in Physics and A in Chemistry.
Williams, who previously attended Kings School, Winchester, said:
“I’m really happy with the results I got. I’m excited for the next step as it will really set me up for the industry I want to work in. The teachers have all been very good and supportive and Barton Peveril has been a brilliant stepping stone.”
Sam Ellyatt, who joined Barton Peveril from Swanmore College, earned his place at the University of Sussex studying Marketing and Management (with a placement year) after achieving Distinction*, Distinction* in Performing Arts: Musical Theatre and B in Business. Ellyatt said:
