Learndirect Hub Operator Invites Interest From Organisations Who Can Deliver HIgh Quality Le

Learninvicta, as learndirect Hub Operator for Kent and Medway invites Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations for the operation of large and medium-sized learndirect Learning Centres.

Operated by Ufi Ltd, learndirect is one of the UK government’s key partners in delivering the workforce development and lifelong learning agenda. Ufi Ltd is responsible to the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) for funding of learndirect learners in England which, during the current academic year, amounts to over £164 million. learndirect’s national network of 2000+ learning centres is managed by 27 “Hub Operators” each responsible for one or more areas. Over 500 courses are currently offered, the majority delivered as “supported e-learning”. These courses have been used by over 1.3 million learners.

Organisations must be able to demonstrate their ability to deliver high quality technology based learning with appropriate learner support, and be able to meet the published quality requirements of Ufi Ltd.

Organisations will be expected to:

– Deliver learndirect through a learning centre based in Kent and Medway

– Achieve set targets and specific performance levels including Skills for Life, delivery of level 2 qualifications and Workforce Development with a particular focus on SMEs.

– Work towards Ufi’s Strategic Plan 2005-10, which can be viewed at UFI.com

– Provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment for the learner.

– Provide and deliver an effective local marketing plan.

– Provide an appropriate level of learner support for all learners, including the provision of specialist support where required.

– Ensure quality of the learner experience.

– Understand funding and audit regimes.

– Understand the needs of the community.

– Ensure that its delivery promotes and is compliant with equality, diversity, disability and discrimination policies.

The deadline the expression of interest is 13.00hrs on 20 May 2005. Completed ITT need to be returned by 13.00hrs 10 June 05, with successful bidders being notified by 24th June 05.
