From education to employment

QCA Report Completed

A report that aims to simplify the system of organising and recognising qualifications and other achievements has been completed by The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The report was carried out in response to a consultation document by the Secretary of State for Education and skills, 29th November 2004.

The QCA, together with the Learning & Skills Council and Sector Skills Development consulted stakeholders, encouraging their contribution and taking their concerns under advisement to help shape the new Framework for Achievement (FFA).

After public consultation more than 80 per cent of respondents agreed that the FFA would be simpler, more flexible and would benefit learners, employers and learning providers. The QCA will make recommendations based on the consultation findings, and will further develop this work between now and early 2006.
