We are looking for competent industry experts to join us as Assessment Writers and Editors for our Fire Door Safety with immediate effect.
The Task Profile outlines the expectations of the Writer/Editor examiner role, and the Person Specification outlines the experience we’re looking for someone to have as an examiner.

Applicants must meet the essential criteria:

Experience of working in a carpentry/ joinery background
Experience of Fire door installation (not just inspection.)
Ideally hold a FIRAS certification or equivalent to demonstrate specific fire door installation knowledge.
The assessments within the Fire Door Safety qualifications include on-screen Multiple Choice exams.

We are looking for examiners to help write and edit Multiple-Choice questions (MCQ) initially, with ongoing maintenance of the examinations when needed.

A one-day MCQ writing and editing training course will be held in February/March. Following successful completion of the training, work would be commissioned in the following weeks. Editing is expecting to take place in February/March. During this you would need to be available to attend an all day meeting. These meetings would be planned in advance and can be fitted in.

Maintenance work may be required as and when on an ongoing basis.

Applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis, and suitable applicants will be invited to attend training.

When completing your application, it is essential you read the person specification fully, and map your application to show where you meet the requirements set out.  Please note applications that do not demonstrate meeting the person specification may be declined or delayed.  We look forward to receiving your application.

We believe that diversity and inclusion strengthen and enriches us, and that it is the responsibility of everyone at the City & Guilds Group to drive this value. We work hard to be inclusive in our approach to recruitment and associate opportunities, whilst still ensuring we meet our regulatory requirements. We strongly encourage and welcome applications from diverse and underrepresented communities.
