Role: Specialist Assessment Tutor

Hours: 31.5 hours per week (0.9 FTE)

Salary: £29,141.10 – £41,412.60 pro-rata (£32,379 – £46,014 Full-time equivalent).

Employer Pension Contribution: 28.68% (£9,286.30 – £13,196.82 FTE).

Location: Stockport Campus (although requirements across the Group may require cover at other sites)

The Role:

Within this role, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments of students needs to identify appropriate support requirements access arrangements. This will include:

The application for access requirements to the relevant awarding bodies.
Providing one to one or small group learning support as required for an identified cohort of students.
Ensuring that specialist assessment recommendations are acted upon and monitored including support for the class tutor as appropriate to meet the needs of the learner.
The role also offers many opportunities for continuous professional development, including getting to attend the Communicate-ed Conference which provides the opportunity to learn and review all the JCQ updates to AARA policies and to network with those also in your field of work.

About you:

In order to be successful in this role you must:

Possess a Level 7 Postgraduate qualification in SpLD or equivalent.
Have strong organisation and time management skills.
Understand the importance of administrative compliance.
It would also be advantageous if:

You have a Level 5 teaching qualification with a relevant specialism and maths and English at level 2 (or equivalent) would also be advantageous.
Have experience in assessing learners for access arrangements and supporting learners with additional needs.
